Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, according to the figures it filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 2 October [1].
A year earlier it delivered 497,099, so deliveries fell by 10,567, or about 2.1% [1][2].
Tesla also deployed 13.7 GWh of energy storage products in the quarter, up from 12.5 GWh in the third quarter of 2025 [1][2].
What it measures
Passenger vehicles sold to customers in July, August and September, counted by Tesla itself. The Model 3 and Model Y made up 478,237 of the deliveries; other models 8,295 [1].
Tesla produced 464,391 vehicles in the quarter, fewer than it delivered, against 447,450 a year earlier [1][2].
What it does not tell you
Profit or revenue. Tesla says deliveries and storage deployments "should not be relied on as an indicator of quarterly financial results." It reports those on 21 October [1].
Where the cars were sold. The filing gives no breakdown by country [1].
How the figures were checked. They are the company's own count, filed but not audited [1].
